Q:Do we have to say Ameen whenever we hear Surah Fatiha or is it only limited to Salat?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Ameen should be said whenever one reads Surah Fatiha and also when one hears another person read it.
Imam Bukhari (RA) has narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that Rasulullah (SAW) said
"When a person says ameen the angels also say Ameen and if his Ameen coincides with the Ameen of the angels his previous sins will be forgiven" (Sahih Al Bukahri Hadeeth No.781)
In the narration of Muslim it is stated
"When the recitor says Ameen then say ameen...."
Hafiz Bin Hajar says in Fathul Bari that the first Hadith shows that Ameen should be said when reciting Surah Fatiha whether in Salah or not and the second one shows that Ameen should be said when hearing the Surah whether in Salah or not.
The meaning of Ameen is "O Allah accept!" so whenever Surah Fatiha is recited or heard Ameen should be said, also during duas ameen should be said with conviction.
It is narrated in a Hadith in Sunan Abu Dawood
"Jibraeel taaught me to say Ameen at the end of Fatiha and he said it is like the seal for a letter"
Q:Every time I pray Salah. Very evil thoughts come into my head. Do these invalidate my Salah?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Salah will be valid even if the thoughts are intentional, however, this will result in reduction of thawab and if the thoughts came unintentionally and you tried to thwart them you will get thawab for your efforts.
A hadith in Muslim says
"Verily Allah has forgiven my Ummah for the thoughts their minds whisper as long as they don't practice (on the thougts) or put them in words"
Question
Assalamulekum wb
moulana could you please tell me that talking in salaah, breaks salaah, but what
if you have the aadat (practice) talking to yourself out of salaah, and that even
happens in salaah, but with no voice talking, jus in your mind you saying
something and praying at the same time, does that still break salaah?
e.g i pray some surah and at the same time, back of my mind i say, when i go
home am going to eat food. but its unintentionally, its in your head! (THE DIALOGUE IS JUST IN YOUR HEAD) WOULD WE CONSIDER THAT AS WASWASAH OR SHAITAN PLAYING UP.
Jazakaallah
Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Walaikumussalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu
Salah only breaks when you utter something which is not part of Salah or which has nothing to do with the tilawah and duas in Salah. Therefore waswasa in Salah does not break it. Even if a person divorced his wife in his mind, the divorce is not counted until he utters the words of divorce. However it is better to make a habit of controlling the thoughts of the mind whether in salah or out of salah.
If the waswasas persist make a habit of reciting surah falaq and surah naas after each farz salah and then make dua to Allah (swt) for the removal of the thoughts.
May Allah help you
Ameen
Question: moulana my question is, in our nafl salaah after the three tasbih could we
pray any other dua whilst in sajdah? e.g ya rabbi igfirli?
